This image
is of the red balloon thatRWeddle was holding up at a place called "Fat Tuesdays" last Thursday. Why would somebody do this? Because it was the agreed upon signal for the flash mob's point of contact for that bar. That's right, last Thursday was the Phoenix-area's first flashmob. As we sat at this table, about twenty people came up and asked for instructions.RWeddle gave out cards reading:
Mob Event #1
"It's a Mob World After All"
The Site: West Side of Mill Ave Between 6th and 7th streets.

Duration: 6 minutes, Disperse at 7:20. No one should be curbside in mass by 7:22_
You are: Excited! Joyous! Looking North on Mill Avenue. Discussing with anyone near that it is wonderful to have the "It's a Small World Parade" visiting downtown Tempe. Approx at 7:17 a vehicle will pass by slowly playing "It's a small world after all" on a stero, at which time the crow should cheer, clap, ooh & aah, etc. Shake hands with neighbor and disperse promptly.
KEEP THIS SLIP HIDDEN

Did it work!?! Well check out thearticle!!
We had about 100 mobbers and it went off with out a hitch. Well...the camera guy from a local news station had caught wind of it, and actually tried to get the instructions from us. But we weren't forthcoming about it :-) It's ok though, next time we'll have less scheduling and more spontaneity.
Yay for organized absurdity!!
