Ceemulation

And now...I take you to a virtual world...

I've been on a bunch of simulated rides...most of them have been mediocre, but a couple have really blown me away...

Islands of Adventure, Orlando, FL

  • Spiderman - Once you put on the 3-D glasses, you get into a little car and proceed on a track as exciting as the snow white ride at Magic Kingom. However, everywhere you look, they've projected 3-D film, so when Spiderman jumps on your car to say hello, the whole car rocks. They make you feel like jumping, falling, web-slinging, fighting along with spiderman by making clever use of air flow and 3-D film. It's really impressive how they've put so many technologies to make such an immersive ride.

Las Vegas Hilton, Las Vegas, NV

  • Star Trek The Experience - This is aSPOILER...imagine ...don't read this if you're a trekkie planning to go on this ride...imagine you're lining up on this little dots to board a Star Tours ride. All of a sudden the lights are cut, people panic, and you hear the sound of a transporter. That's right, you get beamed up into the world of Star Trek. You then run around a mock up of the ship that's filled with actors and pre-recorded footage of the real actors. Finally, you get to the motion simulator part of the ride. The actors and the set really make this ride a great experience.
