On with the cartoons
On with the cartoons
So to continue with the idea of drawing deep meanings from otherwise normal looking cartoons, I show you this analysis of The Incredibles
The Incredibles, an incredibly Roarkian family
To this anlaysis I would like share a couple thoughs on Batman, Joker, Superman, and Spiderman. Each of these charaters are facets of a human persona grown out of control.

Batman, Superman, Joker, Spiderman: None have been seen in real life...yet
Batman - As you should know, Batman is a simple billionaire driven insane by the unnecessary murder of his parents. Not only was he driven insane, he was driven to become the best martial artist around, an ingenious inventor of gadgets, and the ultimate logician/detective. He's basically a man who despite inheiriting billions, decided that he needed to fight for his cause. Extreme convictions. This is the part of you that goes to school because you know it's good for you.
Joker - Patients at the local crazy-house would think this man to be insane. He represents the evil of evil. This guy is so evil, he doesn't even know why he does most of the stuff he does, but when he does it, he finds it funny. This is the part of you that laughs when you watch Maximum Extreme Challenge (aka MXC). It's funny, but you know it's not right :-P
Superman - This all-powerful (often boring) super-hero is possibly the least human of all. Why? well first he's an alien, second he's so super, that he's invulnerable to "negative emotions" (envy, hatred, etc.). He's who we'd like to be when we know we're being cranky.
Spiderman - This was made pretty clear in the movies, I think, but Spiderman is everybody, but with power. He struggles with everything. He's young, immature, gets trampled on, worries more than anyone and definitely doesn't have enough money. He's who we feel like when we think life is working against us, but we know we deserve better. (For the record, life dosen't work against anybody. We hold it in the palm of our hand. So carpe diem, like right now!)
