If I were a writer... (part 2: the denouement)

Happy New Year to all who tell time by our journeys around the sun.

The other story I would like to write would have to be an elaborate myth of how us humans came to be on the planet Earth. By combining parts of Shakespeare, Hinuism, Christianity, The Simpsons, The Gargoyles, and some more science and religion, I think it would be entertaining.

The premise would be that more powerful beings used to live on the fifth planet of the solar system (not Jupiter, but rather the planet that is now a an asteroid belt). They used to conduct genetic and evolutionary experiments on Earth; basically for fun. One day, somebody gets a little two mischevious and blows up their planet and everybody has to move to Earth where their powers diminish and their latest experiment, humans, begin to rule the planet.

There were a whole slew of characters, including Homer as an Adam and Puck as the trouble-maker with the power to destroy a planet :-P

This idea was cooked up while being bored in a high school American history class ... and I haven't thought about it since :-)
