It begins ...
It begins ...
So actualy a couple of things have begun. First, a flurry of blog-able activities has been completed and so I will be posting entries and pictures frequently this week. Second, Navaratari has begun and so I'd like to highlight an event I went to last weekend in the Yay Area.
The SEF Dandia 2006 event, held at the Santa Clara Convention Center, was massive. And by massive, I mean, 3000+ people massive. Normally, at these types of events, concentric circles of people are established as they whirl around in a variety of fun dance patterns. The outer most circles normally takes a about a minute to get around. At this event, it seemed like eons had passed before you made a complete circle. I really wish I had pictures to show you waht I mean. The Stanford Raas team showed up, which means my plans for teaching people how to move were changed to taking lessons from these kids :-) And since I can rarely remember new Garba Steps (the dance patterns), I started making notes that are probably comprehensible to only myself.
