Here's a list of quirks I've learned from working with XMLHttpRequest.

• If your webserver doesn't specify the mime-type of your xml file, Firefox will still parse the xml into an xml document element, however, MSIE will not.
• You can check to see if there was a parse error by using xmlReq.responseXML.parseError.errorCode
• Checking the headers: xmlReq.getAllResponseHeaders()
