Arduino
Notes on my first Arduino project, a photo booth.
Goal: A photobooth where the user(s) push a button and the camera takes 4 photos and prints a 4x6 that displays the 4 photos on a grid.
Hardware:
- Sony DSLR A100
- Basic remote trigger
- DC Power supply for camera
- Linux machine
- Arduino Uno board manufacterd by OSEPP and has a RISC-based ATmega328P microcontroller from Atmel
- A small, generic breadboard from Radio Shack
- Soldering Iron (25 Watt)
- A 2N2222 transistor manufactured by NTE. The NTE part number is NTE123A.
- 10K Ohm resistor
- Volt meter
- Wire strippers
- 22 guage hook-up wire
- Printer ???
- Button
Software:
- ImageMagick image processing software
- Arduino development environment
- With the board set to "Arduino Duemilanove or Nano w/ ATmega328P"
- Python 2.6.5 and the python-serial package
Circuit:
- Camera -> Transistor(C)
- Transistor(E) -> Camera and to Ground on Arduino Board
- Pin 13 -> Transistor(B)
- 5V -> Button-> Pin 2
- Pin 2 -> 10K Resistor -> Ground
Camera Settings:
- Auto-Focus (not continuous, not wide area, just plain auto)
