Economics In One Lesson

By: Henry Hazlitt - Available at
AmazonWritten in 1946, updated in 1978 and still completely relevant, pretty amazing. He talks about how whenever one thinks about an economic policy or a change in the status quo, you have to think about both ends of that change. If our country needs to increase minimum wage, it does put more money in the pockets of workers, but it prevents some people from working at all because employers can't afford minimum wage. It takes about how increasing exports means that the country's imports will become more expensive. Artificial price ceilings eliminate supply for the goods for which demand was already too great. It's all very interesting. As for the its relevance to today's markets? I think it would recommend against any bailouts and let the economy deal.
