Ender's Game

AmazonEnder is the Batman of child heroes. This is an amazing tale of children (though not necessarily only for children) about some rediculously smart kids using and being used by the government to save humanity from aliens. But that's really only the first level; towards the end the distinction of good and evil becomes so blurred its almost meaningless. There's immense character development and lots of streams of consciousness and psychology. Basically you sit inside the mind of a child you come to love and admire and at the end you miss him. This is the first book I've read on paper an on audio. The readers were definitely able to bring out the compassion of the characters more than I did. One of the few books that I literally have trouble putting down.
