Last Chance To See

By: Douglas Adams - Available at
AmazonThis books tells the story of a few people out to see some of the world's most endangered species in the wild. Sound like a Discovery channel book? It would except that it was written by the one, the only Douglas Adams! This, of course, means that it's a million times more entertaining and descriptive. In the end, this translates to a much more compelling story about extinction than any that has been told in a documentary. The book also seems to lessen the outlandishnes of Hitchhiker's, as Adams himself went through a fair bit of real-life adventures that are on par with the craziness in his famous novel. This is also the only book that I bought in paper, while listening in audio format. I learned, by comparisons, read out loud is most definitely slow; but infinitely more meaningful (at least to me!)
