I had always wanted to visit Monument Valle, it seemed like such a serene place. The reality isn't too far from the myth. It's very isolated out there and if you wanted to just sit out there and think and admire nature's handy work, you could. As a tourist trap, it's not particularly exciting. The guided tours are a bit rich and I wouldn't recommend doing the self-guided tour in anything less rugged than a light SUV. That being said, I bet it's beyond beautiful at sunrise and sunset.
