Nineteen Eighty-Four

I was supposed to read this book in high school. But since I had actually read Brave New World, I figured I had read enough dystopian books. This one is surprisingly more realistic :-/ The idea of an all-powerful meme that supresses the creation of other memes is particularly disturbing. What I think is the most impressive part of the book is that it was written in 1948; before the invention of <strike>the new speak channel</strike> MTV :-P The second most impressive part is that business that was reenacted in <a href="http://www.startrek.com/">Star Trek</a>...<span style="font-weight:bold"><a href="http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/series/TNG/episode/68580.html">There are four lights!!!</a></span>
