Om Shanti Om

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery. Personally, I believe tribute is better than flattery and that* parody *is the highest form of tribute.

Om Shanti Om must be the ultimate in tributes to Bollywood. It's easy to understand the dramatic story of actors portrayed in a Bollywood movies mixed in with jibes at the industry, its greats and its 'ishtyle'. It may be a little harder to understand why digital tomfoolery can add hilarity to a Bollywood philum.

However, to understand its tributes you must have seen at least a handful of classic Bollywood movies. Unless you can recognized at least half of the cameos in this number, or know why the title "Phir Bhi Dil Hai N.R.I." has me rolling on the floor, you cannot fully enjoy this philum.

Ok, I'm done being a Bollywood fanboy :-)
