Program or be Programmed

By: Douglas Rushkoff - Available at
Amazon
How often are programmers heroes of a book? Maybe, twice. I'll let you learn about the book from this
2 minute video. All caught up? The book itself has 10 'commandments' that tell us how we should act in response to all the different software we encounter. The goal is to maintain our individual freedom by understanding what software is trying to and making the best choices. One key point is that there's always the choice to not use the software. I loved the concept of the book and I would love for the whole world to learn how to program computers. The actualy book seemed to missing something. Maybe I'm not used to reading shorter books, but I would have loved to have more. Perhaps some interviews with programmers who have consciously practiced the idea of 'programming' a user. In any case, great concept, great author, it definitely changes your perspective on the world to come. It's not available on Amazon, you'll only find it
here!
