Religions of India

From this lecture series it becomes clear that Dr. Eck has seemingly done tons of research on the history and practices of Hinduism; including how it relates to the other major religions of the area. I learner some stuff that I probably could have picked up from Wikipedia, but the material regarding the social and political climates under which some of the ancient texts were written as well as the motivations are something that is really enlightening. She also recommended some translations of the Upanishads that I will hopefully lookup soon. Lastly, did you know that Gandhi has an autobiography {isbn:0807059099}?
