Shadow of the Giant

AmazonThe concluding installment of Bean's saga; or is it!? It deliberately leaves a few key threads unfinished while closing off many, many others. The story itself finally eliminates any geo-political instability and should end in happiness. Instead, the story ends with some bitterness and sweetness, go figure. Some of the depictions of religion in this book are extreme and propagate stereotypes, which seems to be particularly harmful in today's geo-political scene. Now that I think about it, there wasn't a whole lot of 'fun' in this book. All things considered, it was a good run. I definitely enjoyed seeing how everything panned out. I like how Card always finds some single, "right" way that the hero must act to achieve victory :-P Here's to the battles of titans. In any case, we eventually get to find out what happens to Bean and his genetically engineered kin.
