Starship Troopers

AmazonAn interesting social theory draped in the story of one man going through military service in the future. The theory is this: one should not be able to vote unless one has successfully gone through two years of military service. The assumption is that successfully going through military service is the only way to prove that you understand what it means to put the welfare of the group ahead of your own. Apparently the message was very controversial when he wrote the book. The story itself is ok, nothing super exciting, but it works. His views are literally presented when the main character is being taught in a classroom, a little too clever :-P
