The Art of Deception

AmazonA long, verbose read, but still interesting. He gives us over a dozen scenarios that showcases social engineering as a security-defeating tool. It's too bad technology ages so ungracefully -- his recommendations for reducing risk for dial-up numbers dates the book pretty quickly. It's still easy to see how the techniques described could be applied to today's work environment. I imagine cloud computing will reduce many of the risks, but I'm sure clever "investigators" will still find a way to charm employees into revealing sensitive information. I would love to see some of these scenarios written into Hollywood scripts, they're kinda fun!
