The Power of Habit

By: Charles Duhig - Available at Amazon

I loved this book. The first half is about personal habits. The are based on the cycle of cue, habit, and reward. To change a habit, you must keep the cue and reward the same, but change the action in between. One tactic I found memorable was to use some self-awareness to learn the cue, then to log the number of times you're cued. Apparently, logging the cue, regardless of whether you fell to your bad habit, is a step in the right direction. The second half of the book is how folks apply it in groups. I thought it was fascinating that habit creation is a big part of pro-sports, football in particular. In general, habits are the root of success or failure.
