The Audacity of Hope

AmazonThe book was abridged, but I was impressed. He talks about how he feels teachers should be paid as much lawyers, but only if schools can determine the effectiveness of teachers and fire them if they aren't. He states that the issues of government are indeed complex, and that the media is encouraging one-liners, but he thinks the people are ready to hear the details. He also talks about how it's difficult voting in senate because your binary vote is the only voice you have on a large bill that has both good and bad parts. The point is that he seems like he's real, smart and willing to admit that we can work towards doing things right if we're willing to look at everything. I'm starting to think he's the first of a new breed of politicians who don't believe in spin. Here's to hope!
