The Botany of Desire

Pollan amazes me again. He shows that four plants have been able to very successfully reproduce themselves by satisfying human desires. Apples satisfy sweetness, tulips beauty, marijuana intoxication, and potatoes control. Along the way we explore some history and science, legends and genetic engineering. It's really quite an interesting view of the world. Pollan has become one of my favorite authors.
