The Speaker for the Dead

Card said he really wanted to write ~~Speaker~~ but couldn't write it without writing ~~Ender's Game~~ to set it up. He was surprised that it was actually ~~Ender's Game~~ that become so popular, silly man. But ~~Speaker~~ is still pretty cool in its own right. He also said that he wrote this book to spread the extent of the power of telling the truth. In my opinion, the exchange towards the end where utterly different cultures try to understand each other is a much more powerful message. Second to that is the idea that if you really know sombody you cannot hate them. Third is that you will only learn from truth. Buy hey, it's Card's book, not mine:-) God help me, but I think I'm going to try to read ~~Xenocide~~.
